Thirsk Brick Show 2025 – fundraising fun in North Yorkshire
Thirsk Brick Show is a small one day annual show held in Thirsk Town Hall by Brick Alley, and Saturday 8th February 2025 saw it return to the picturesque North Yorkshire town of Thirsk.
The event is a fundraiser for a local respite charity, Holyrood House. All income from the show is given to Holyrood, with Brick Alley supporting it by funding the show costs as well. This year, we raised £1900 for Holyrood House!
In 2025 29 members contributed to the show exhibiting and volunteering to run activities. Holyrood House ran a cafe in the venue selling very tasty sandwiches, cakes, scones and other goodies. They kindly supply sandwiches for our group, which we very happily consume!
An estimated 400-500 people visit the show through the day. Most visitors are from Thirsk and the surrounding areas, but over the years it has attracted visitors from outside the area. This is fantastic and an endorsement of the quality members bring to the event.

Visitors see a wide range of exhibits, such as detailed theme parks, zoos, medieval villages, classic and other space designs, vintage LEGO, Harry Potter, and even a model of Holyrood House and Thirsk Town Hall.

There are large railway sets, and one has been designed by its creator to enable visitors to have a go at running it. All the models are designed and built by the participants from scratch and each year new models get displayed.
There are also fun activities to engage in. Visitors could challenge themselves to find a series of minifigures hidden in exhibits and solve the word puzzle for a chance to win a set. There are play pits with thousands of bricks in to let loose visitors creativity, and this year before the end of the day there had been a huge brick Angel of the North (part of our club logo) along with a brick version of the show name. Other activities were building a section of town from mixed bricks, and a chance to test your ability to build a model at speed against the clock.
Two Lego traders come to the show with plenty of variety of sets minifigures and parts for visitors to build for their own collections and models, ranging from collectors items, down to small parts packs.
This all means there is plenty to see and do for visitors whatever their interests and we hope to make it a fun day for all who come. Some visitors have come for many years, so clearly enjoy their time at the show.
