Adult LEGO fans in North East England at Durham Brick Show 2026

A LEGO weekend at Durham Brick Show 2026

Brick Alley descended upon the peaceful environment of Ushaw House and Gardens, a few miles from Durham city centre in North East England.

In this tranquil setting – formerly a seminary and part of Durham University – Durham Brick Show came to life for three days over the weekend.

Our LEGO Death Star, built by members during Shildon Brick Show 2025, was on display again and proved a popular attraction for visitors who hadn’t seen one of the largest LEGO sets ever to be in production.

55 exhibitors and volunteers brought the show to live on the Saturday and Sunday, with tower building competitions, soap box derby cars to be raced down a ramp (thanks to Craig for rebuilding our ramp!), and fan-built LEGO model displays from builders from North East England, Scotland, and even Norfolk!

A social evening for LEGO fans in North East England

We’re a social bunch in Brick Alley and many of us enjoy meeting and talking to other LEGO fans at our shows in North East England. After dinner at the New Board Inn, we headed back to the stunning venue for the evening to watch the LEGO Batman Movie and take part in challenges (yay, organised fun!).

During the film, we ran building activities including some rather silly activities with LEGO polybags, which Rob, John, Matt K and Helen (below) won twice.

Another competition asked competitors to build the tallest tower they could in pairs – our chair Richard held his record (did he mention he won it last year?) with teammate and new exhibitor Marty without using a surface to build on.

Thank yous

Our shows are run entirely by volunteers, and we have many people to thank for their time and energy, as usual:

  • Richard, Jules and Tris for organising the event
  • To Ushaw staff for their support
  • To our exhibitors, volunteers and traders for making the show so lively
  • To Jules and Sammy for organising the Saturday social activities
  • For Lewis for designing our gift set for exhibitors, to Henry for creating instructions for it, and to Jules for sorting the parts
  • To Tony for organising volunteers
  • To Adam and Amy for organising the raffle and selling tickets, and to Tii and Jack for running it!

Our next club show in Shildon Brick Show on 14th – 15th November 2026 at Locomotion Museum, Shildon.
