A lot of LEGO at Durham Brick Show 2025

Brick Alley returned to Ushaw House, a few miles outside Durham city, for lots of LEGO fun at Durham Brick Show 2025.

Our members displayed a huge range of models built from LEGO bricks, from town scenes to space bases, spaceships and artwork. We managed to get even more LEGO models on display than last year.

Our minifigure trail took visitors around the venue hunting for specific LEGO minifigures holding a letter – 9 letters spelt out a word which was “flamingos” this year. Congratulations to all families who got the correct answer – some of those minifigures were well hidden!

Speed build winners at Durham

Our speed build activity – build a LEGO set as fast as possible – had some fantastic results with winning times this weekend being:

  • Saturday: Children 1 minute 15 seconds,  Adult 2:10
  • Sunday: Children 1:35, Adult 2:07

Social evening for adult LEGO fans

Our Saturday social evening for members and exhibitors featured a meal at the nearby New Board Inn, and an evening in Ushaw’s theatre with a private screening of the Lego Movie (what else?!), with a series of challenges throughout. Andy Back created an excellent spaceship, Richard built the tallest tower in 1 minute, and there was a very lacklustre sing-along to “Everything Is Awesome”.

As usual, thank you to all who exhibited, our volunteers who ran the activities tirelessly all weekend, venue staff who helped run the weekend, and to our lovely visitors.

Our next club event will be Shildon Brick Show on 1st and 2nd November at the brilliant Locomotion Museum in Shildon, County Durham – see you there LEGO fans!
