Join Brick Alley
If you love LEGO bricks and live in the North East of England, Brick Alley is for you.
We are a group of 100+ Lego fans based in the North East of England and want to share our love of LEGO bricks with everyone!
Monthly meet-ups for adult LEGO fans
We meet monthly, usually in Darlington, although we do have occasional meetings in Newcastle, Durham and other locations in North East England.
Brick Alley meet-ups are varied, and can feature a LEGO-themed talk or demonstration, some hands-on LEGO building challenges, or just a chat and chance to swap LEGO sets, parts and figures. We encourage members to bring recent LEGO sets and MOCs (My Own Creations – custom built models) too!
How involved you wish to be in the group is up to you. Some members just hold membership; others interact on our Facebook members’ group, or attend our meet ups, while others exhibit or volunteer to our shows throughout the year.
LEGO shows and exhibitions
A large focus of our LEGO User Group is on its annual LEGO model exhibitions, or shows. Here, our members and members of other LEGO User Groups bring their models to display to the public, run activities for visiting families, and socialise with each other.
Our show calendar changes every year, but we have a few recurring events including:
- Shildon Brick Show, started in 2016, is held at Locomotion Museum in County Durham each November
- Discovery Brick Show has been held in Newcastle upon Tyne since 2018, and is typically at the end of April or in early May
- Durham Brick Show, a smaller two day show at the beautiful Ushaw House & Gardens outside Durham City. Typically held in mid-September
- Thirsk Brick Show, a small, one-day fundraiser in North Yorkshire, held each February
- Bricks N Bits, another small, occasional one-day fundraiser show
Other benefits
Being a Brick Alley member offers opportunities to meet other adult LEGO fans in the region, as well as improve your model building skills, collaborate with like-minded people, and more. We have a large active Facebook group of around 130 members.
Income we earn goes in to our members, and running future events and activities, from thank you packs for exhibitors at your shows, to trophies and LEGO set prizes for challenge winners.
